Silverton Train Tour
Departs from Durango Station at 9:00 AM and arrives in Silverton at 12:30 PM. Train departs Silverton for the return trip at 2:45 PM and arrives back in Durango at 6:15 PM.
Enjoy a leisurely 3 1/2 hour ride to Silverton on a true steam engine while taking in the breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains, San Juan National Forest, and the Animas River. Once in Silverton, you'll have 2 hours to get in some shopping, sight-seeing, eating, or partaking in various delicious beverages Silverton has to offer. Then all-aboard at 2:45 for the return trip to Durango. There is no cell service or WiFi in the canyon, so this is the perfect opportunity to unplug and unwind as you sink back in time. The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad has been operating this 45-mile section of the Denver & Rio Grande line since 1882 and much of the scenery has remained unchanged.
Be on the lookout in the fall for the Polar Express!
